Meaning of 一筋縄 in Japanese

なんか分からないが、一筋縄じゃいきそうにないってことだな。ううむ。
I don't quite follow, but it looks like it will prove tricky. Ergh.

先の時間に居眠りした分も合わせて、今度の試験はどうも一筋縄ではいかない感じが漂っている。
